Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Anthropology & Sociology at Western Carolina University. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from the Department of Sociology at Purdue University in 2019.
My research interests include social inequality (particularly intersections of gender, caste, and class), state, social movements, development, and globalization.
My dissertation project examines the role of the state in how people negotiate inequality. In particular, I study how state policies influence the frames people use to interpret unequal access to food and care and how those frames challenge or adapt to inequality.
